Whether you've spent a lifetime accumulating investments, recently received a considerable inheritance or are just starting your savings journey; keeping on top of the right investments can be challenging - You may not have reviewed your holdings in years and are not sure whether they fit into your plans now, or your inheritance may have a range of historic accounts which you simply can't make sense of, or your are not sure of the most suitable vehicle to start your savings journey.
These are scenarios I see almost every day - Most commonly this is caused by people losing sight of the overall goal with their investments & savings and simply focusing on the investment holdings themselves. I truly believe that investments should be goal-led. This is why I focus my initial meetings on understanding your current position and where you want to get to. My role is then to advise you on the most suitable away of achieving this whilst taking the most suitable level of risk for you.
I've been told by a friend I should invest in X, should I?
Perhaps the most common question a financial adviser will ever receive. It's natural that we listen to our friends when they tell us they've made money on a particular investment. Often those, these are extremely high risk and based on fortune rather than a specific plan. I am more than happy to have detailed and honest discussions with my clients regarding these types of investments so please feel free to ask me anything.
The value of investments and any income from them can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the original amount invested.
